c is for cookie

oh dear.

reading a copy of shape magazine while eating these cookies is a definite conflict of interest. so so good.

i am leaving you with a modified version of chocolate chip cookies from martha stewart. i'm a lazy baker which is the reason for some changes.

2 3/4 cups of flour
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
1 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
a good pour of vanilla (my mom swears she never measures vanilla and i don't either. too much never hurt anything....)
2 cups of chocolate chips (or more if you like... never too much chocolate for me)

whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt together in a big bowl. beat butter and sugars together on medium speed for about 4 minutes. beat in eggs, 1 at a time. add vanilla. slow down your mixer because you are about to make a HUGE mess (ok, maybe it's just me). add your flour mixture. then add your chocolate chips.

drop ping pong ball sized scoops onto your baking sheets. and use parchment paper, aka one of the best inventions in the world. i could fit 9 onto each cookie sheet- they spread out pretty good.

bake for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees. take them out and take your parchment paper off the baking sheet so they don't continue to cook.

best if enjoyed with a cold glass of milk and a fitness magazine.

oh, one more thing... look at this adorable picture.

here's my 90 year old grandma with my 1 year old daughter. mia wouldn't eat off her own plate but let grandma feed her bite after bite until grandma's plate was nearly empty. i love it.
